CTEMF and The British Council have teamed up to create the Bass Xchange. It is a competition which involves an up and coming BASS artist from the UK being flown down to South Africa during the period of 4-9 February 2014. The artist will be able to collaborate with some of South Africa’s finest electronic acts in Cape Town’s iconic Red Bull Studios.

All entrants must be between the ages of 18 and 35. They are required to send an original mix of 30 to 60 minutes. The mix must contain 3 original tracks of theirs, in the form of either a bootleg, remix or their own production. The mixes will be judged by the CTEMF crew as well as UK BASS titan, Benga and South African electronic duo Dirty Paraffin.

The winner gets a trip to Cape Town, and is allowed an opportunity to DJ at CTEMF which takes place from the 4-9 February 2014. The winner also gets R5000 to spend on their trip, a free return flight and time spent working in the Red Bull Studios with some of South Africa’s finest acts.

This is not only an opportunity for the UK, but South Africa too. It is an opportunity to showcase the vast and unrelenting talent that exists within South African boarders.
